PITA PIZZA FACES

YOU WILL NEED: • chopping board • knife • teaspoon • pastry brush • baking tray
• Oven heated to 200° C.

Packet small pita breads
Small jar pizza paste*
Grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese
Small quantity of Australian olive oil
TOPPING SUGGESTIONS:
Ham or cooked chicken cut into thin strips
Cherry tomatoes cut in half
Spring onions, celery, sliced
Capsicum (red, green and yellow)
Cooked or tinned sweet corn kernels
Zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, mushroom slices
Green beans and shelled peas
Pineapple pieces

Directions

Toppings are only limited by the vegetables available and your imagination.

Spread pizza paste over the surface of a pita bread with the back of a teaspoon. Sprinkle grated cheese over pizza base. Design your "pizza face" by arranging a variety of toppings on top of the cheese.

Brush larger pieces of vegetables with a little olive oil. Bake for 10 -15 minutes until cheese has melted and vegetables are just tender.

PIZZA PASTE
You can make your own pizza paste by mixing a crushed clove of garlic, a teaspoon of finely chopped oregano, basil or flat leaf parsley and 3/4 level teaspoon of icing sugar through a 170 gram tin of tomato paste.
